Citadel Villagers

This week I managed to complete a few of my very old Citadel villager miniatures. The sculpt quality is rather poor, but considering that they are nigh on 25 years old I can't really complain. I have done the best I can with them and think they have actually turned out OK. Unfortunately my photographic skills haven't improved too much so I think a reinstall of Photoshop wouldn't go amiss so I can cut and zoom in better. I'll try that with the batch for next week - a second contubernium of Romans with another Centurion to lead them.

Anyway, here's those villagers...

The minis consist of three tavern staff, some kind of mendicant and a village idiot. All of these will be used in my upcoming fantasy RPG as well as being used as objectives or "scenery" when running WAB battles.

EIR - 1st contubernium

As promised, here are a couple of pictures of the first contubernium of my Early Imperial Roman century completed last weekend. The miniatures are from Warlord Games' new plastic range.

Apologies for the quality of the photos; I have just dug out the camera again and cannot remember how to use it!

The next minis I will be looking at painting are some very old Citadel Miniatures townsfolk.

First post

I promised myself I would start a new blog after attending Salute 2009 this year. I bought myself some new minis whilst there and decided that the lead (and plastic) mountain must reduce considerably by next year before I can buy any more. This has prompted me to get out the paint brushes and dust off the paints and minis of yore and get cracking on my hobby.

My first projects include:
  1. Warlord Games' Early Imperial Romans (I have a whole century to paint!) - WAB
  2. Some old, old Citadel Miniatures' townsfolk - fantasy RPG
  3. Some Citadel Miniatures' and Asgard Dwarfs - HotT

Since Salute 09 I have started to paint the minis above and finished the first of them over the Easter Holiday weekend. My next post will show my efforts so far.
